This year we at S-kin Studio wanted to highlight all the different kinds of love this Valentine’s Day. And what better way to do that, then to hit the streets and ask the public about L.O.V.E!
On a fine Sunday afternoon our girls scoured Edinburgh Gardens, to ask couples and friends what the meaning of love is to them. We met so many wonderful people and got to hear their story and even received a little bit of advice on love.
Q. How long do you know each other?
A. We’ve been married for 17 years, since 2005. But we have been together longer than that, ever since 1997. So, like over 25 years!
Q. What does love mean to you?
A. It’s the butterflies in your stomach. It is a great indicator of knowing if you would get through the tough times or not. You’ve got to be best friends too and be able to appreciate each other’s sense of humour. I don’t think love exists if you don’t find the person funny!
Q. How do you show that you love one another?
A. It’s the little things! We help and do small things for each other that we can both appreciate. Like I make him a coffee every single morning. He also lets me talk when I need to talk, without trying to fix things … although it took a while for him to learn though!
Q. How long do you know each other?
A. We both met each other in our early 20s while working at a book store, and we’ve been best friends ever since!
Q. What does love mean to you?
A. Love is definitely laughter! When you find that kind of love in a person, there's a type of ease. Like you don’t have to try, and completely accept one another.
Q. How do you show that you love one another?
A. We send interesting things to each other through the mail. We both collect strange things, and to other people it might be weird and ugly, but to us it’s the complete opposite. But that’s what love is… its accepting each other!
Q. How long do you know each other?
A. We all knew each other separately, and eventually met one another. We all met through music – like at a club and at a concert!
Q. What does love mean to you?
A. Love can mean different things, depending on what kind it is. Friendship love is having someone there to understand and support you, and listen to your troubles and complaints unconditionally. Love is also when you can be frank with one another, telling them the harsh truth to make each other better humans.
Q. How do you show that you love one another?
A. The way we show love towards our friends differs on the person, but it all comes down to words, action and food!
We would like to thank all the lovely people for taking the time to participate in our very first street interview! Your personal stories and advice on love truly touched our hearts (no pun intended)! We hope your relationships flourish and grow, and we at S-kin Studio wish you all the love in the world! 💖
