The creative and muse of the Lunar Dreams collection, Paola Cossentino has been enchanting us with her mesmerising photography and aesthetic for well over a year and a half! Based in Milan, Paola is well known for her romantic and poetic ability to capture the cities beauty and history. Having always loved photography, we are super excited to share her stunning vision for the Lunar Dreams collection as she shoots our collaborative creations in her iconic effortless aesthetic. 

How did you get started in the world of content creation and when did you realise you could turn your passions into a career?

I started about 7 years ago. I always loved photography and I was inspired by author cinema (otherwise known as auteur in French, meaning a director who has complete creative control over their work). I wanted to experiment with my own creativity and vision and the easiest way to start was photography. I was fortunate to be able to turn it into a full-time job about 2 years after I started creating content. 

Did you work in any other industries before becoming a creator? And if you weren't a content creator, what do you think you'd be doing?

Prior to becoming a full-time creative, I studied law for a year and I went to work as a sale assistant. I also worked as a visual merchandiser at a clothing shop for awhile. If I wasn’t a content creator, I would have probably expressed my vision through writing stories. It is something I am quite passionate about and enjoy doing in my free time. Maybe one day I’ll share them with the world.

What advice would you give an aspiring content creator?

Be unapologetically yourself. Don’t get lost in the trends. Search your inspiration outside of social media, from art, music, your own emotions and your memories.

What does a typical day look like for you?

 As a creator, my days rarely look the same. It is difficult to maintain a routine in my line of work because of the unpredictable travel, jobs and deadlines. I spend much of my time shooting content and creating the aesthetic behind each look.

 What was the inspiration for behind your jewelry designs for this collaboration? 

 The inspiration between the designs are the stars and my inner world. I called the collection Lunar Dreams because I wanted to encapsulate the beauty and mystery of the night sky as well as showcase the warmth and luxe feeling that comes with gold. 

Which S-kin Studio collaboration piece is your favourite and why?
The Lunar Onyx Ring is my favourite piece in the collection because it’s the first design I created. I drew it during the first quarantine and I saved in my drawer, waiting for the right chance to make it become real.
