With the Lunar Collection launch approaching soon, let us take you behind the scenes and have a little sneak peak of our new campaign!

LOCATION

Our Lunar campaign shoot was shot in the same location as our Enchanted collection, in a small photography studio space in Brunswick. The clean white walls and the tall open windows of the studio allowed all the natural light in, making it the perfect place to photograph our latest collection.

The empty walls also allowed us to bring in some props, such as cherry blossoms and fans, to stylise the space and our campaign images. Our talented Photographer, Carmen Rose, helped our vision of a Lunar New Year festival (S-kin Studio Version) come to life!

INSPIRATION 

The main inspiration behind the Lunar campaign was to capture our model, the beautiful Selina Yang, smiling and having fun as if she was attending a Lunar New Year Festival herself. The props and styling really helped Selina get into that mindset and role.

Our Creative Director, Chi, also wanted to recreate a similar aesthetic that of old Asian films. Our photographer used this neat trick of putting a stocking over her lenses to create hazy, Super 8 style images.

STYLING

Chi, along with our Marketing Assistant, Gia, and our favourite MUA, Zoe Karlis, helped in creating these three gorgeous looks. To capture the festive vibes of Lunar New Year, Chi wanted to include more make up looks, such as the pearls on the eyelids, flowers on the cheeks, and a cloudy sky eye look. These makeup looks, along with the wardrobe and set, helped encapsulate Chi’s vision for this new collection.

We are so excited for the launch of Lunar, not only because it is our first release of 2022, but it also represents and celebrates our Asian culture and heritage. Although Lunar New Year is an Asian tradition, it is a celebration that all ethnicities and cultures can participate in and enjoy.
