If you’ve never seen a theatre show, this would be a fun one to start with! & Juliet is a Melbourne-only feel-good show featuring Shakespeare remixed with some of the world’s most popular pop anthems by Britney Spears, Katy Perry, The Weeknd, etc. Depending on your show time, book yourself in for a Nordic dinner at Freyja before you hit Regent Theatre. Have some fun at Moomba Festival ‘23
Your favourite carnival is back! Moomba Festival will be at Alexandra Gardens & Birrarung Marr (opposite both sides of the Yarra River) from 9th-13th March 2023 from 5-10pm. In addition to a great selection of food and rides, several programs such as African dance and drumming workshops, silent discos, ski shows etc. all happening at different times from Thursday to Monday!
Did you know? Moomba has been held annually in Melbourne since 1954, and was thought to be named after an Aboriginal word meaning "Let's get together and have fun”. In actuality, the word moomba has a very different meaning. The Aboriginal words "moom", meaning bottom, and "ba" , which alternatively means "up",was a joke played on the burghers of Melbourne in 1955 when they searched for a name for their celebration of civic pride.
