September Recap

September Recap

Hello my lovelies! I thought I would start out by saying this is a new series I want to do every month or so to recap on the things I've been up to in the past month - and reflect on the things that happened in the month. I thought it would be interesting to read for those of you who are like me, and like following along to small businesses.

So let's start with September!

ย

The highs

September was my birthday month and I was stoked to have this month gone so well after a quiet ish August. I celebrated my birthday with my partner Alex and took a day off work, and it was fantastic (for those of you who follow along on Insta stories you might have seen how spoilt I was!).ย I also released a bunch of new stuff for September andย the feedback so far has been great. Our sample sale which was released later in the month was a fantastic way to showcase some one offs and from the responses I definitely will be doing more of those in the future.ย We also went to the Melbourne Collective market this week and met so many of you which was one of the highlights of the month. Our Waratah collection photoshootย was a great success which is another exciting achievement for me - to be able to find a crew that works well together on set was amazing to witness. We also added our first official stockist, Pookipoiga, and was invited to their amazing 3rd birthday party which was absolutely fantastic.

ย

The lows

September was a pretty stressful month withย me having to do lots of preparations for my 3 week holiday in Italy in October. I had toย plan my restocks (and I'm still getting it wrong, by the way!), prepare packaging for Waratah, prepare content and EDMs, and do so much content shooting ahead of time so I can rest assured there will be plenty to showcase in October. Iย also had to train my brother in law toย pack orders for me so your orders can still go out as normal in October. Lots of things went wrong with Waratah, from *almost* not getting the samples in time, toย having to find others to share our studio with (as it was out of budget alone for me), to working on wholesale outreach and getting PR packages sent out for Waratah in time before my Italy leaving date, it was a whirlwind.

My favourites this month

This month I've been wearing our Waratah collection constantly, as well as my Piper hammered ring. I also loved cooking more this month, and my favourite has to be my mushroom, onion and feta tarts. My favourite skincare was Maaemo's Vitalize Facial Elixir, which I was given a sample and it was amazing for my sensitive, dry skin. I bought a jacket hoodie for Wicket which was adorable from My Pet Warehouse.ย Alex gifted me these amazing slippers from Ugg for my birthday which were godsend for the colder mornings in Melbourne.

Goals for October

I am so glad to be taking a small break and having an amazing time in Italy in these couple of weeks, but more than anything I am beyond excited for the launch of Waratah. I have worked super hard for this collection to come to life and my goal for October is toย just have a successful launch and be able to showcase what I've worked so hard on to you all! Besides Waratah, I will be attending Boho Luxe Market and hope to see many of you there this month!
