It's been a while since my last recap, so I thought I would update on our journal on what we have been up to since September last year!
You guys loved our January Sample Sale!
Wow, where did January go? I feels like yesterday that I was standing in the corner of the servo at South Melbourne watching the new year fireworks. January has been a month full of planning, intention setting, and goal setting for me. While I don't believe in resolutions, I did set a few intentions for myself this year. I thought I would share these with you below.
Chi's 2019 Intentions
- To be more present, to do things with intention, i.e. asking myself, 'how will this make me happy, fulfill my goals, or further my wellbeing?'
- To learn more, read more, and consume less.
- To be aware of my impact, whether it be physically, verbally or emotionally
January has been a month where I was able to rest and recharge at times, and at other times going full speed with so many things on my plate. There has been multiple beach swims (teaching Wicket, our puppy how to swim, was the best!), full on wedding planning, to trip planning to Vietnam where I'll visit family later in the year.
I spent a lot of time catching up with friends in January
Some (if not all) of you may know that S-kin Studio is run by myself (Chi) in my spare hours in my own home studio /office in Melbourne in addition to my full time job. It has been a challenge this year, more than ever, for me to set goals for S-kin that can do all the support you have given us this past year justice. I do want to share with you as much of my process as possible, so I have listed some of your suggestions from a poll I did earlier this year on our Instagram stories!
I'm super excited to be announcing some super exciting things, starting with our new collection launch in early March! S-kin launched last year in March and this collection is to celebrate our one year biz anniversary! We also have some exciting collaborations coming up, with an Italy-inspired collection (have we mentioned we went to Italy last year?) coming later in the year.
I'm beyond ecstatic to add a few more pieces to our permanent collection, and starting to transition our brand towards being 100% ethical. As we wait (patiently) for new collections to release, we have also come to terms and have said farewell to some of our old stock.
I hope you enjoyed this short and sweet recap on my January thoughts and what I've been up to - I hope you stay and join our beautiful community, and watch out for our exciting projects coming up. If you haven't already, have a browse through our previous articles to learn more about the behind the scenes of running S-kin!
Until next time,
Chi x
