You can clean your moissanite ring by gently soaking it in a degreasing solution, e.g. water and a couple drops of mild dish detergent, and with a very light hand, use a clean toothbrush to scrub off any dirt, oil or grime. You can then rinse your ring with water and dry with a clean, soft lint-free cloth.

We recommend cleaning your ring regularly to maintain shine. 

If you are unsure how to properly clean your ring or would like it to be absolutely pristine, we recommend taking your ring to a professional jewelry cleaner at least once every quarter. Your professional jewelry cleaner will be able to use steaming and sonic cleaners that will deep clean your jewelry.    

Moissanite rings are safe to wear in water but know when to take them off.

Whilst moissanite is safe to wear in water we recommend removing your ring is you are headed to the beach, going to the pool or doing rigorous exercise. 

This is to ensure that you do not misplace your ring or have it fall off accidently. Your skin will naturally shrink in water and it quite common for people to loose their rings whilst swimming. 

 It is also possible, that in extreme conditions, smaller pavé stones can pop out and become lost if exposed to intense heat or water pressure. 

It is, of course, completely fine to wear your moissanite ring everyday.

This means there is no need to remove your moissanite ring when washing your hands or completing daily tasks. You can even sleep in in your diamonds if you want.

However, whilst moissanite is a tough stone, we recommend removing your ring when doing the following: swimming, going to the beach, hiking, intense/high impact sports and labour work e.g. DIY gardening projects or your yearly spring clean!

Additionally, you should avoid exposing your moissanite ring to harmful chemicals that may be erosive to the band or build up dirt on the stone. Such chemicals include acidic skincare products, hair sprays and chlorine.

This is not because the stone will tarnish but because you risk loosing your valuable ring if it slips off or becomes dislodged. It is also possible, that in extreme conditions, smaller pavé stones can pop out and become lost if exposed to intense heat or water pressure. 

It is important to regularly check the status of your prongs and settings to ensure your diamond is being properly held in place. If your ring has been under immense pressure or had been knocked quite aggressively, it is possible that your moissanite has been dislodged or moved. 

To ensure your diamond is safe and in good condition, book a maintenance appointment with a professional jeweler at least once a year. They will help you make sure that the prongs around the moissanite are tight and that there are no issues that require repair. 

Ensure you have a safe moisture-free place to put your moissanite ring when you are not wearing it. The original ring box or a anti-tarnish cloth case is the best option. 

Do not place your ring with other jewelry to make sure the ring band doesn't get scratched and the moissanite doesn't damage your other jewelry. 

Even better, have designated ring dishes around your home to give yourself a specific spot you can put your ring if you need to remove it. This way you can always track where you may have placed you ring and minimise the chances of loosing or forgetting where you've placed it.

No, moissanite stones does not change colour over time. However, a layer of grit and grime may form over the moissanite when not regularly cleaned. This will look a like a film like substance on the surface of the stone.

This layer is only removable with a silver polish cloth or a silver polish cream. Simply gently rub your moissanite with the solution and your stone should return to its sparkly self.
