Hello beautiful people & welcome to the first journal entry of By S-kin. For the first ever instalment of our journal, I wanted to introduce myself as the creator of the brand, and why the brand was created.

You may have arrived at this side of the world of S-kin from our sister brand, S-kin Studio Jewelry, my original creation and jewellery brand all about minimal jewelry for sensitive skin. You may also know a little bit about me already - hi! I'm Chi, the Founder and Creative Director behind S-kin Studio Jewelry and By S-kin. I created By S-kin as a concept to fulfil the gap from S-kin Studio's original jewelry creations to lifestyle product categories and beyond. I have always loved designing and creating (more about my earlier days creating here), and By S-kin is a natural extension of my creative roots. 

So what is By S-kin? By S-kin is a lifestyle brand focused on consciously crafted lifestyle goods for an elevated life. I like to think of By S-kin as a lifestyle brand, with its ethos all about spending our days doing things to the fullest. Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Felix, my first, I was thrown into the deep end of motherhood and my identity changed greatly from where I was before as a 20-something. As a mum I really wanted to invest in building a brand that is embracing of all aspects of life, that celebrates every moment like it's the best; you are in the now, and right now is the 'good old days'. And while trust me, while it's not all a glowy highlight reel, I want to encapsulate the snapshot of a wonderful life - and a well-lived one - in a brand, and that is By S-kin.

Coming from a background where growing up where I was taught to buy once but buy well, I also wanted to create a brand that creates an opportunity for those to invest in quality lifestyle goods that are elevated but well considered. Those collector's totems from our travels or a book that deeply changes us, and the feelings that come with those are what By S-kin is about.

What can you expect from us? While By S-kin is at its core part of the S-kin Studio brand umbrella, you can expect some key visual differences with the brand as it is founded on multiple aspects of an elevated, well-lived life, full of colour and all the quirkiness in between. Expect signature patterns on natural fabrics, made consciously with the planet in mind, across multiple categories of apparel, home, childrenswear, and more. I have so much hopes and dreams for this wonderful brand!
