Founded in 2023, By S-kin is a lifestyle brand dedicated to ethical, sustainable and uniquely story-woven designs. Created by Chi Mai, the founder of our sister brand, S-kin Studio Jewelry, this range expands the concept of small batch productions into the apparel landscape.
By S-kin is playful, friendly, quirky with a little bit of fun sprinkled in between. Just like a perfume or photo that captures a happy memory, our pieces inspire you to celebrate all moments of life.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
CHI MAI
Chi began her design journey at a young age, designing DIY sweatshirts and jewelry in highschool and then later transitioned into ethical custom gold filled jewelry designs. With the success of S-kin Studio Jewelry, Chi wanted to try apparel design once again with By S-kin.

By S-kin was born from Chi’s strong ethos and yearning for creating consciously made products that embraces her sustainable lifestyle. Once she entered motherhood, Chi also wanted to invest in building a brand that embraces all aspects of life - you are in the now, and right now is the ‘good old days’.
“S-kin is now part of my identity and I just didn’t want to abandon the name. It’s an extension of our original S-kin Studio brand and pays homage to all our original supporters; for without S-kin Studio Jewelry, there would be no By S-kin.”

Featuring a consciously curated selection of natural fibers and effortless silhouettes made with our unique printed designs, By S-kin encourages a slow living mindset through small batch productions and limited release collections.
HOW DO WE ACHIEVE THIS?
Made-to-order
Each collection is made in limited production runs and will be available ‘made to order’ to reduce waste and overproduction.
The made to order process takes 6-8 weeks from your order being placed to having it delivered to your front door.
Ethically made
By S-kin uses a selection of sustainable natural fibers, and is ethically produced at our SA8000 and Sedex certified manufacturers.
Being an Asian founded company we wanted to support ethical artisans in Asia and found best practice in China.

Every piece is exclusively designed
in-house with love at our Melbourne based studio, for the dreamers, lovers and artists.
With focus on fun, playful and quirky designs, the colours and patterns are inspired by meaningful motfits & nature.
